'We were rubbish. No-one's place is safe in the team now. That was our worst display defensively since I came to this club' Jones' rant after the Bluebirds prove a big letdown on the small screen at Plymouth.

This article is about the football manager. For the California politician and Assemblymember, see Dave Jones (politician).
David Ronald (Dave) Jones (born August 17 1956 in Liverpool) is an English football manager currently in charge of Cardiff City.
wasted no time venting his fury about Cardiff City's dreadful 2-1 defeat at Plymouth Argyle.

First he was direct and blunt in telling his players what he thought.

Manager Jones was asked by players to 'keep things in-house', but turned down their request, left the small, old-fashioned away dressing room at Home Park and walked across to the new media centre which is a newly-installed Portakabin.

"Some of my players would like it kept in-house, but there is no hiding place No Hiding Place is a British television series produced by Associated-Rediffusion for the ITV network between 16th September 1959 and 22nd June 1967.

The series followed the cases of Detective Chief Superintendent Tom Lockhart (Raymond Francis) at Scotland Yard.
," he began.

"That's rubbish. They can't get away with a performance like that. They are going to get a swift, short reminder that they should not load the gun and then fire it for me.

"I can do anything I want now after that performance. Some of them were probably thinking that maybe they were a little bit safe.

After that, not for me. No. That is not acceptable for us as a football club. We can play 100 times better than that."

Bluebirds manager Jones was in no mood to try todefend his team, making it clear he is thinking about big changes to his team for tomorrow's Coca-Cola Championship home match against Reading.

Jones was clear and concise about his feelings, saying: "I was disappointed with the whole 90 minutes. The only time we had a passage of play was when we scored.

"Defensively, we were all over the shop. We could not clear our lines. We couldn't pass from back to front. As I told the players, I can't remember the last time a team scored a quality goal against us.

"We keep giving ourselves mountains to climb. I felt sorry for the boys in front of the back four. They could not pass water. It looked as though they had not played together before.

"That is probably the worst display defensively since I came to this football club. We struggled against Wolves for 15 minutes, but shook ourselves out of it, we gifted Birmingham City goals and even last week, against Crystal Palace, we gave away a poor goal, but were able to shake ourselves out of that.

"But we can't expect to give goals away and then think we can click into gear. The boys at the back must take a long, hard look at themselves because I don't know what they did right. I know what they did wrong, but not what they did right.

"There are no positives. None whatsoever.

I can't think of one. I felt sorry for Wayne Routledge Wayne Neville Routledge (born January 7 1985 in Sidcup, London) and attended The Archbishop Lanfranc School (Croydon) is an English footballer, who currently plays for Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur after completing his season long loan spell at Fulham. . He must wonder what this is all about. We didn't get the ball down and we didn't pass it properly.

"If you can't pass from A to B then people coming into the team are going to struggle. We didn't get the ball to him in good areas and never gave people up front enough ammunition to fire.

"You need a base and we didn't have that today. I include my goalkeeper Tom Heaton Thomas "Tom" Heaton (born 15 April 1986) is an English footballer who plays as goalkeeper for Manchester United. He was born in Chester.

in that. He may have redeemed himself with a few saves, but he forgot to flick the ball over the bar when they scored their second.

"Tom is young and will make mistakes.

It's how you recover that counts.

Playing with that back four he fell into what they were doing.

"Weknow we can play better. Not just 10 times better, but 100 times better.

"On Thursday I felt something wasn't quite right in training and maybe I should have changed and shaken it up.

But it was a good win against Palace and we played some good football.

"Today I can't remember us getting the ball down and passing with any pace, any zip until the second half when we scored our goal. You build from the back and we could not build anything.

There is no hiding place from this."
