'W&G: CURSE OF WERE-RABBIT' SWEEPS ANNIE AWARDS.

The makers of ``Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit'' popped up Saturday more than that burrowing pest in England's vegetable patches as the film captured 10 prizes at the 33rd annual Annie Awards.

The Oscar-nominated clay-animated production - a five-year project for Britain's Aardman Animations Aardman Animations, Ltd., also known as Aardman Studios, is an Academy Award winning British animation studio based in Bristol, United Kingdom. Aardman is famous for its claymation/stop-motion animation productions, particularly plasticine duo Wallace & Gromit.  - swept all 10 feature film categories, from best animated feature and the directing honor for Nick Park and Steve Box Steve Box (born South Shields Tyne and Wear UK 9 February 1956) is an Oscar-winning animator and director who works for Aardman Animations.

His early work in animation included the popular British claymation television series The Trap Door
 to best music for Julian Nott.

Park, who created the title characters of the quirky inventor and his brilliant but cynical dog, personally received four awards, including writing and character design. The film also won for animated effects and production design.

In three categories there were friendly rivalries among contributors to ``Were-Rabbit.'' Peter Sallis Peter Sallis, OBE (b. February 1, 1921, Twickenham, Middlesex, England), is a British actor.

He is best known for his role of the level-headed widower Norman Clegg (Cleggy) in the BBC sitcom Last of the Summer Wine, which he has played since 1973.

Bob Persichetti won over Michael Salter in feature storyboarding, and Claire Billett scored more votes than Jay Grace and Christopher Sadler in character animation.

Left in the dust over and over were ``Chicken Little,'' ``Robots,'' ``Madagascar'' and the two other contenders for the best feature Academy Award, ``Howl's Moving Castle'' and ``Tim Burton's Corpse Bride.''

The television awards were more evenly distributed at the awards ceremony at the Alex Theatre in Glendale, presented by ASIFA-Hollywood.

Best animated television production went to ``Star Wars: Clone Wars II Chapters 21-25'' from Cartoon Network Studios Cartoon Network Studios is an American animated cartoon production company. A subsidiary of the Turner Broadcasting System arm of the Time Warner media conglomerate, Cartoon Network Studios focuses on producing and developing animated programs for and related to the Cartoon . Peter Shin claimed the prize for directing a TV production for the ``Family Guy'' episode titled ``North by North Quahog “North by North Quahog” is the first episode of the of Family Guy and is the first new episode of Family Guy after the series revival. It premiered at University of Vermont in Burlington at a special screening on April 28, 2005[1] ,'' while Seth McFarlane won the TV voice acting honor as beyond-precocious baby Stewie in the series' ``Brian and the Bachelor'' episode.

``Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends'' on Cartoon Network picked up awards for best music and production design, while Nickelodeon's ``SpongeBob Squarepants: Fear of a Krabby Patty'' won for best writing in a TV production.
