TRIBUTES were today paid to a Walsall father of three who drowned in a swimming pool tragedy while recuperating from a serious sporting injury. Keen Walsall Rugby Club player Adrian Miles, aged 49, of Sutton Road, suffered severe bruising bruising discoloration and actual hemorrhage at the site of injury, and a serious disadvantage in the meat trade. In the first 12 hours after injury the bruise is bright red, at 24 hours it is dark red, at 24 to 36 hours it loses its firm consistency and becomes watery and at 3 or of the spine when he was injured going into a tackle at Wednesbury in May last year. He was battling his way back to full fitness and was swimming as part of his recovery when he drowned in the pool at the University of Wolverhampton's Walsall campus. A spokesman for the university said in a statement today: "At about 5.45pm on July 27, lifeguards at our Walsall campus swimming pool in Gorway Road were alerted to a swimmer lying at the bottom of the pool. "Two lifeguards pulled the member of the public from the water and performed CPR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Definition Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is a procedure to support and maintain breathing and circulation for a person who has stopped breathing (respiratory arrest) and/or whose heart has stopped (cardiac until ambulance crews arrived. "The man was taken to Walsall Manor Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police arrived and the pool was closed for the rest of the day. "The Health and Safety Executive has been informed of the incident and we are conducting an internal inquiry to determine the full facts. "We take safety very seriously at the University and have trained lifeguards on duty at all times at the pool. Our deepest condolences go to his family." Mr Miles was managing director of plastic film coating company Folex Limited, based in Shirley, Solihull. David Rogers, secretary of Walsall Rugby Club, today paid a glowing tribute to Mr Miles. "Adrian was very well respected and liked within the club, both as a past player and as a coach with the under-13s," he said. "Adrian was a very keen player and suffered severe spinal injuries when he was injured going into a tackle during a fun day at Wednesbury Rugby Club in May last year.
