Owner Roy Lau is rightly proud of the excellent reputation his restaurant has built up over the last three years and says he has many loyal customers who return time and time again.

Orders are now being taken for the Christmas period when the restaurant will be open on Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day New Year's Day, among ancient peoples the first day of the year frequently corresponded to the vernal or autumnal equinox, or to the summer or winter solstice. In the Middle Ages it was celebrated among Christians usually on Mar. 25. . Canton Chef will be closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day but will reopen on Sunday December 27.

Canton Chef offers a menu of authentic Chinese cuisine Chinese cuisine (Chinese: 中國菜) originated from different regions of China and has become widespread in many other parts of the world — from East Asia to North America, Australasia and Western Europe. , all freshly prepared by the highly experienced chef and his team who are all experts in their style of cooking.

The Christmas menu will start on Tuesday December 1 and is priced at pounds 25 per head. This will run alongside the normal menu throughout December.

The Christmas set menu offers great value for money and is an ideal way to get your festive celebrations under way. Bookings are now being taken and groups/parties are always welcome. Either ring or book on-line.

Mr Lau says: "We have been established in Honley for three years and have recently enjoyed a major refurbishment. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our old and new customers for their continued loyal support. We have many customers who come back to us time and time again.'' Walk into the Honley restaurant and you'll find a pleasant bar and waiting area where you can enjoy a drink and study the menu. The restaurant itself is spacious and airy with plenty of room for diners to enjoy their food in a pleasant welcoming environment.

The menu itself is varied with something for all tastes including vegetarians who are well catered for. Set menus are available for between two and six people and include a wide selection of authentic Chinese dishes.

Soups, dim sum and a range of starters get your meal under way with main courses including speciality Cantonese dishes, chicken, duck, beef, fillet fillet /fil·let/ (fil´et)
