The episode has faint echoes of the classic episode "College," which featured a lot of nice, quiet character stuff framing a couple of moments of explosive violence. Next week, Christopher's (Michael Imperioli) amateurish, "Saw"-like film "Cleaver" premieres; the story line features a veiled attack on Tony that has him wondering if he can trust his cousin anymore. And a series regular dies, albeit nonviolently. So it's a slow simmer building toward what will no doubt be an explosive finale (a lot of main characters get short shrift in these first two episodes).
