'Steven didn't want to go on without him' Man died 11 months after blind brother.

AN "INCONSOLABLE" young dad has been found dead less than a year after the death of the brother he couldn't live without.

, of Churchfield Row in Pentre simply "couldn't go on", said his family, without his older brother David, 31, who was found dead in Sandybank Road, Ystrad, on August 16 last year.

The 25-year-old, who has a four-month-old son, was discovered dead in bed by his girlfriend Terri Powell at their Pentre home on Sunday Sunday: see Sabbath; week. , July 5. Inquests are yet to get under way in both cases until tests ascertain whether drugs, drink or other substances played any part in their deaths. The tragic brothers' father Barrie Thomas, of Broadfield Close, Penygraig, said the former Tonypandy Community College student and brother David, who was blind, were very close.

David lost his sight five years ago after being shot in the eye with an air rifle and suffering a fall.

Their father said: "It's 11 months since he lost his broth-eDavid and he was never the same - he couldn't live without him. He never got over it.

"They were very close, they were - always out together.

"Steven didn't want to go on without him - I think that's what it was.

"Since the accident, Steven was always there for David.

"He was like David's eyes.

He was his best mate Best Mate (bay gelding, 28 January, 1995 - 1 November, 2005. Sire: Un Desperado, Dam: Katday) was a famous English trained racehorse and three-time winner of the Cheltenham Gold Cup.  as well as his brother."

Steven left a four-month-old son, David, who he named after his big brother.

"Nobody had anything bad to say about him - he was a good boy, doing anything for anyone and always happy."

Steven's other brother Leon, 27, of High Street, Treorchy, said: "I just can't put into words what I have lost."

The grieving grieving Mourning, see there  father said: "All three were very nice boys - but I have only one left now.

"I thought I would be the first one to go, but Steven died of a broken heart - I know he did."

Steven was laid to rest at Treorchy Cemetery cemetery, name used by early Christians to designate a place for burying the dead. First applied in Christian burials in the Roman catacombs, the word cemetery came into general usage in the 15th cent.  alongside his cherished brother after a funeral yesterday and Mr Thomas said: "That's the way he would have wanted it because they were so close.

"We just miss them every single day."
