'Smart' films for windows are on a roll.

Glazing films made with a layer of SPD (Serial Presence Detect) The method used by DIMM memory modules to communicate their capacity and features to the computer. Data such as manufacturer, size, speed, voltage and row and column addresses are stored in an EEPROM chip on the module.  (suspended particle device) emulsion emulsion: see colloid.

Mixture of two or more liquids in which one is dispersed in the other as microscopic or ultramicroscopic droplets (see colloid). Emulsions are stabilized by agents (emulsifiers) that (e.g.

While different definitions exist for the exact voltage range covered by "low voltage", the most commonly used ones include "mains  is applied, are going into high production. Over 35 companies have licensed the Smart Glass technology from Research Frontiers Inc., Woodbury, N.Y., including two major Japanese firms--Hitachi Chemical Co. and Dainippon Ink and Chemical. Both are licensed to produce and sell emulsions and films. Dainippon currently has capacity for about 2000 [m.sup.2]/month. It plans to increase capacity to 36,000 [m.sup.2]/month next year. Dainippon's latest emulsion boasts improved uv curing and less haze. The original licensor, Hankuk Glass in Korea, stopped production of SPD films in late 2004.
