'Slice of life' for new justice centre.

A TIME capsule of life in Nuneaton will be placed in the town's new justice centre this Friday.

The capsule has been put together to reflect the current culture of the town.

The items have been chosen by sixth formers at King Edward VI College King Edward VI College can refer to:
  • King Edward VI College, Nuneaton
  • King Edward VI College, Stourbridge
, which stands near the new Northern Area Justice Centre, in Vicarage Street.

Staff and students from the college, including head Keith Butterworth, will see the capsule placed in the building by the High Sheriff of Warwickshire This is a list of High Sheriffs of Warwickshire. This is an incomplete list. Please add to this list if you are aware of an omission.

  • 1620: Sir Thomas Temple, 1st Baronet, of Stowe, Buckinghamshire
, Roger Wiglesworth, on Friday as part of the building's topping-out ceremony.

The traditional ceremony will mark an important stage in the development of the country's first multi-agency justice centre. Topping out takes place when structural work on a new building has been completed and before internal fitting out.

Police spokeswoman Kate Turner said: "The ceremony is seen as an omen of good fortune for the building and for those involved in the construction.

"At the topping out, a time capsule will be placed in the wall of Court Room Four."

The ceremony on Friday will also be attended by the Mayor of Nuneaton, Ian Lloyd, and Richard Dakin, the regional director of HBG Construction Ltd, the company contracted to build the pounds 13 million centre.

, John Burbeck, programme manager for the development of the new justice centre and Chief Superintendent Richard Lyttle, will also be at the event, together with representatives from the organisations who will use and work at the centre.
