'Sick' Tobin delays trial; KILLER.THE trial of the man accused of killing student Dinah McNicol 18 years ago had to be stopped yesterday when he fell ill. Peter Tobin, 62, was being taken to court when he claimed to be poorly. Mr Justice Calvert-Smith had to send the jury home, telling them: "The defendant's in hospital." Convicted killer Tobin allegedly strangled stran·gle v. stran·gled, stran·gling, stran·gles v.tr. 1. a. To kill by squeezing the throat so as to choke or suffocate; throttle. b. Dinah, 18, in 1991. Her body was buried bur·y tr.v. bur·ied, bur·y·ing, bur·ies 1. To place in the ground: bury a bone. 2. a. To place (a corpse) in a grave, a tomb, or the sea; inter. b. her in his garden in Margate, Kent. He denies murder. The Chelmsford crown court trial continues. |
