THE grandparents of a Scots hooker want to gain custody of her child after being tipped off she is working in the vice trade.

They had believed their 24-year-old daughter was pursuing a career as a singer. But the couple were devastated dev·as·tate

 to discover she has in fact been raking in pounds 200-an-hour working as an up-market escort girl.

The hooker dumped her 18-month-old tot on them to pursue her "career" but is now determined to stop her parents being granted custody of the youngster. A source close to the case said: "Her parents were appalled when they found out she was working as an escort girl.

"She had told them she was a singer but someone tipped them off about what she was really doing.

"They already disapproved of her lifestyle, particularly her father, as he is very strait-laced.

"They decided it was in the little boy's best interest if they gave him a permanent home.

"But she wants him back and is going to take the case all the way."

The mother divides her time between properties in Glasgow and London, and advertises her services on the sleazy slea·zy

Yesterday, the little boy's grandmother said: "It might seem unusual but when you find yourself in this situation there is a lot of support out there."

A campaigner for grandparents' rights said the couple were brave to fight for custody. Jim Deuchars, chairman of the group Grandparents Apart, said: "Mothers tend to be all-powerful in these cases.

"It is very sad that grandparents have so few rights and we are fighting to change the law."

Last night, the mum said: "I am just worried about my son. I don't really want to talk about this. The court case is still ongoing."

The petite brunette gave birth at a Glasgow hospital in spring, 2004. The father is not named on the birth certificate.
