'SUS' GOOD FOR ULSTER.KNIFE crime expert Alan Mains believes it is ridiculous to target just known criminals with stop and search or "sus". The former PSNI PSNI Police Service of Northern Ireland (UK) PSNI Pharmaceutical Society of Northern Ireland PSNI Professional Systems Network, Inc. superintendent said there are lots of people carrying blades who are yet to offend. He warned: "Without broader stop and search they will remain under the police radar. "Random searches create uncertainty in people's minds. "That means people worry they may get caught with a knife and that makes them more likely not to carry one."
