Directed by Gary Ross from the best selling novel of the same name, ``Seabiscuit'' has earned more than $120 million at the domestic box office since its release last summer. Last week, it was nominated for two Golden Globe Awards, including one for Best Picture, Drama.

``This is certainly a film that audiences loved, and we were confident it would be just as enthusiastically embraced on DVD,'' Universal Studios Home Video President Craig Kornblau said in a statement.

a niche for itself. It's the only dramatic film in the top 10 of best selling DVD titles on both the Amazon.com and Wal-Mart.com best-seller lists.

``Dramas are a harder sell,'' said Ralph Tribbey, editor of the DVD Release Report, an industry newsletter. ``People go to the movies and see something dramatic like 'The Hours.' I'm not sure they want to collect it. Big action films like 'The Matrix' and 'The Lord of the Rings' series are the ones that people collect. 'Seabiscuit' is sort of in an interesting gray area in the mass market.''

The ``Seabiscuit'' DVD contains such bonus features as commentary with Ross and filmmaker Steven Soderbergh, a racing history of the legendary horse, a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the film, a photo section featuring cast photos taken by actor Jeff Bridges, and a making-of feature, among several others. There is also a two-disc special edition of ``Seabiscuit'' that includes even more bonus material.
