'S4C has failed. So let it die a peaceful death' On the future of S4C; JOIN THE GREAT ONLINE DEBATE.

Any variety in media for Wales is a good thing. But after paying a licence fee to the BBC BBC
 in full British Broadcasting Corp.

Publicly financed broadcasting system in Britain. A private company at its founding in 1922, it was replaced by a public corporation under royal charter in 1927.
I do not want to subsidise S4C''s whim through any backdoor See trapdoor.  grant.

It's also rubbing the nation''s noses in it a bit when S4C S4C skate for cancer
S4C Siannel Pedwar Cymru (Channel 4 Wales, Television)
has not wanted to know the English speakers of Wales since its origins, except, that is, for their cash.

- fairness

What a whiner you are, always banging on about how S4C doesn''t cater for you English-only speakers, then when they offer it to you, it's still not good enough.

- Gwenllian

I'd be very keen to start a petition for S4C not to start broadcasting English-medium news. It's just a front to get more viewing figures and justify yet more of our cash. Let it stick to its original remit so it is clear whether it is succeeding or not.

- llew99

What a bunch of hypocrites. You all chorus on about S4C not giving you English-speakers any time, and as soon as they do you backtrack like scalded rabbits. How predictable of the anti-Welsh cabal.

- PrinceMadoc

It has failed because it failed to attract enough viewers. It was primarily a Welshspeaking channel, so why should it now be subsidised to compete with the English channels in English? It failed in its mission. Let it die a peaceful death.
