DEAN SAUNDERS Dean Nicholas Saunders (born 21 June, 1964 in Swansea, Wales) was a Welsh footballer and was a prolific forward.

He is probably best known for playing for Aston Villa.
admitted his players looked "rusty" as they beat Basingstoke Town 2-1 last night to set up a third-round tie against Workington.

Wrexham progressed thanks to an Adam Aimable own goal and a Jefferson Louis strike, although Sido Jombarti hit back in the 87th minute.

Saunders said: "We looked a little rusty - we've been training on an artificial surface for 10 days and this was a completely different surface which cut up badly.

"Our passing wasn't as crisp as it could have been, but we got the result and that was the man thing."
