'Pavement driver' held; COURT.


A 24-YEAR-OLD accused of killing a man and woman by drunkenly driving on to a pavement was remanded in custody yesterday.

Slovakian Stefan Stanko appeared before magistrates charged with causing the deaths by dangerous driving of Denise Head, 49, and Brian Moon, 67, in Ashford, Kent, early on Sunday.

A 12-year-old girl was also hurt in the incident, and was treated for serious head injuries in hospital.
