HEALTH chief Brendan Drumm claimed yesterday 90 per cent of patients are happy with the care they receive.

He said despite the concerns expressed over the service new research showed high levels of satisfaction among patients.

Professor Drumm revealed the early findings of the survey and denied claims the health service is in crisis.

He said: "Yes, there are parts of the health system that need attention and we are working hard on addressing these.

"But it is unfair to ignore the fact that every day thousands of people receive excellent care through the public health care system and are happy with this care."
