'PANCHO' BARNES TALK IS SET.

PALMDALE- Author Barbara Schultz will talk about aviator Florence ``Pancho'' Barnes as the third installment in the Palmdale Playhouse's Distinguished Speaker Series at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Schultz wrote a biography of Barnes, who set flying records in the 1920s and 1930s and who later operated a dude ranch known as the Happy Bottom Riding Club The Happy Bottom Riding Club, more formally known as the Rancho Oro Verde Fly-Inn Dude Ranch, was a dude ranch restaurant and hotel operated by Pancho Barnes on the site of current-day Edwards Air Force Base in southern California's Antelope Valley, in the southwestern part . The club became a hangout for pilots at what is now Edwards Air Force Base Edwards Air Force Base, U.S. military installation, 301,000 acres (121,805 hectares), S Calif., NE of Lancaster; est. 1933. It is one of the largest air force bases in the United States and has the world's longest runway. .

A display will be in the lobby for patrons to view.
