'Oz Fritzl raped his daughter for 30yrs' COURTS.

MAN dubbed Australia's Josef Fritzl has been charged with sex abuse after allegedly fathering four children with his daughter.

The unnamed man is said to have raped his daughter for 30 years from the age of 11.

She gave birth to four children, all of whom had defects. One later died.

The man, who is in his sixties, was charged after the woman walked into a police station in Morwell, South East of Melbourne.

He denied assaulting her but was charged after DNA tests allegedly proved he was the father of the children.

Victoria state premier John Brumby said: "Obviously, any crime of this type is one that is shocking and that is personally repulsive to me and to other Victorians.

"It's a terrible case. It brings to all of us, I think, the worst possible thoughts about families and what might occur there and what may have occurred."

The man's name has not been released because of a court order that prevents the daughter and her children being identified.

He is due to appear in court in November on charges including incest, rape, assault and indecent assault.

Child protection chiefs are already under pressure to quit after an unrelated state report found social workers had placed three children in protection with convicted sex-offenders while authorities failed to carry out checks on carers.

Fritzl is serving life after being convicted in Austria of holding his daughter hostage for 24 years and fathering seven children with her.
