LIVERPOOL'S stylish men and women don't always need an excuse to go shopping - but when it came to supporting Liverpool Unites, people flocked to the stores in their hundreds.

The Metquarter teamed up with the ECHO's children's charity for its annual customer shopping event last Thursday.

The Liverpool Unites raffle raised pounds 284.24.

Thank you to everyone involved and a special thank you to the Liverpool Unites volunteers who gave up their time to help with the raffle.

Mersey Moon Merseyside singer Jimmy Rae has released a song, Under the Mersey Moon, to support Liverpool Unites.

Proceeds from the single will be split between Liverpool Unites and the Wirral Autistic Society.

Livercool The Livercool awards, which reward the city's most successful entrepreneurs, was hosted by Downtown Liverpool in Business.

The event at the Crowne Plaza featured an auction which raised thousands for Unites.

Downtown Liverpool In Business has announced Liverpool Unites would be its official charity for 2010.

It is the first time in the organisation's history that it has chosen the same charity for a second year running.

Prizes on the evening included Professional of the Year and Young Entrepreneur of the Year.
