'No cuts in rural areas' TRANSPORT.


THE rural transport scheme must not fall victim to Government cutbacks, it was warned yesterday.

Labour spokesman on Enterprise, Trade and Employment Willie Penrose Willie Penrose (born August 1956) is an Irish Labour Party politician. He is currently the Labour Party Spokesperson for Social & Family Affairs.

Willie Penrose was born in Ballynacargy, County Westmeath and educated at St. Mary's C.B.S.
 said support is needed to help those in the countryside.

He added: "These services are vital to people residing in rural areas and they provide services for the elderly and many people who reside on their own or in isolated areas.

"So I am calling upon the Government to ensure that this important scheme is not subject to any cuts."
