'No case of Swine/Bird Flu so far reported in the NWFP'.


Peshawar, August 10, 2009 (Frontier Star): According to a press release issued here the director General Health Services Peshawar, no case of Swine/Bird Flu has so far reported in the NWFP. The Health Department is maintaining high alert regarding the situation and all necessary steps are being taken before any unpleasant condition, as news reports have been appearing in the local press over the past one week regarding cases of Swine Flu in neighbouring countries. The press release further says that surveillance has been increased at the airports to detect any cases at point of entry. Hospitals have been designated to handle and manage the case in case of emergency. Special isolation wards and staff have been deputed in this regard. All necessary logistical support and medicines are being arranged by the government. At the moment situation is totally free of Swine/Bird Flu and there is no cause for concern.
