AT MY age, I regret to say that the issue of the shrinking icecaps does tend to wash over me. In fact, rather selfishly, I do appreciate global warming.

Hopefully, gone are the days when we got up in the morning to find snow half way up the door, or perhaps the water pipes frozen beneath the ground.

However, I do turn off unnecessary lighting and never leave appliances on standby for long periods.

Having said that, I cannot begin to imagine the comment that I would get from my wife, should I suggest in all seriousness, that from now on we share a bath!
