teaching of the Tamil language Tamil languageDravidian language spoken by more than 63 million people. It is an official language of Tamil Nadu state in India and one of the official languages of Sri Lanka. in schools across Malaysia, a national co-ordinator for Tamil schools should be appointed, Tamil Youth Bell Club president S. V. Lingam has said. Addressing a press conference, Lingam pointed out that all the appointed state co-ordinators were busy looking after the management of the Tamil schools at state level. There was no person at the national level to look into solving the nationwide problems, he added. If appointed, the national co-ordinator could make sure that Tamil schools get equal support in terms of strengthening the teaching of the Tamil language.
