That's the kind of plot twist usually reserved for stars who get too greedy or high-maintenance. But ``NCIS'' creator Don Bellisario insists it was Alexander who wanted out of the series because of the intense work schedule.

Bellisario says Alexander will be in the season premiere at 8 tonight as well as the second episode, but her appearance is not in the form of a ghostly encounter, a flashback flash·back

They have a romantic history, as apparently is required in any series story line involving two attractive actors of opposite sexes.
