'Man in plot to smuggle guns, drugs' OPERATION.


A MAN appeared in court yesterday in connection to an alleged plot to smuggle smug·gle  
v. smug·gled, smug·gling, smug·gles

v.tr.
1. To import or export without paying lawful customs charges or duties.

2. To bring in or take out illicitly or by stealth.
 guns, drugs and counterfeit tobacco into Britain and Ireland.

Paul Meehan was returned for trial to face a series of charges following an international police operation involving the PSNI PSNI Police Service of Northern Ireland (UK)
PSNI Pharmaceutical Society of Northern Ireland
PSNI Professional Systems Network, Inc.
, Garda and Dutch National Crime Squad.

The 35-year-old, from The Crescent, Sallins, Co Kildare, was arrested last year after alleged meetings with an undercover officer at Belfast's Europa Hotel.

Belfast Magistrates Court Judge Fiona Bagnall remanded him in custody after granting a prosecution request to have him sent for trial.

Meehan will now appear before Belfast Crown Court on a date to be fixed.
