'LOVE CALLS with Poorman' Radio Show on KMPC 1540 AM to Announce Winner of 'Battle of the Female Co-Hosts' on June 2nd.

LOS ANGELES -- Jim "Poorman" Trenton, the creator and original host of KROQ's "Loveline" is back with a new radio show LOVE CALLS with Poorman. The show airs Monday 11pm-1am and Tuesday through Friday 10pm-Midnight on KMPC 1540 AM The Ticket.

LOVE CALLS with Poorman features Poorman, psychiatrist Dr. Dave, and soon a female co-host (the winner of the "Battle of the Female Co-Hosts"). The cutting edge show features celebrity guests and breaking musicians as "Guest Love Doctors" who take listener calls to discuss relationships, sex and any hot topic of the day.

Poorman has been conducting an exhaustive search for his new female co-host and foil in an on-air contest dubbed "Battle of the Female Co-Hosts" where he will have two girls a night on the air for an hour each. Listener voting on the website (www.poorman.com) where the female contestants' pictures are posted and caller comments will give Poorman an indication of the co-hosts he will favor for his pick as the winner. More than 125 women tried out live on the air for the co-host position during the past fourteen weeks.

On Tuesday May 31st, the notorious Los Angeles DJ will have all twelve girls in the studio and will announce the final four in the first half hour. The four girls from then on will be on the air in rotating two girl pairings per half hour until the end of the show on Thursday June 2nd when Poorman will announce the winner.

Los Angeles radio fans who remember when Poorman ruled the airwaves with "Loveline" -- the classic call-in show he hosted on KROQ from the mid-80s through his unceremonious suspension in 1993, which was L.A.'s #1 nighttime radio show for years -- will feel an instant affinity for the new program. "Love Calls" features Poorman bantering with the young, good-looking Malibu based psychiatrist "Dr. Dave" (whom Poorman calls "Dean Cain without a workout").
