'Kosher' center attracts more another retailer.


Retailers continue to come to Lawrence Center, the 100,000square-foot Long Island shopping center shopping center, a concentration of retail, service, and entertainment enterprises designed to serve the surrounding region. The modern shopping center differs from its antecedents—bazaars and marketplaces—in that the shops are usually amalgamated into  that boasts the largest concentration of kosher kosher [Heb.,=proper, i.e., fit for use], in Judaism, term used in rabbinic literature to mean what is ritually correct, but most widely applied to food that is in accordance with dietary laws based on Old Testament passages (primarily Lev. 11 and Deut. 14).  stores and services outside of the Borough Park district of Brooklyn.

Located at 340 Central Avenue, Lawrence Center specifically caters to the tastes and traditions of religious Jews.

In the latest lease signing, Twin Cleaners of Lawrence, Inc., a laundromat and dry cleaner store, has taken nearly 1,000-square-feet of space, bringing the Center to 85 percent occupancy. Linda Wolff, a broker at New Spectrum Realty, Inc., represented the tenant.

The center is within walking distance to hundreds of homes and places of worship, Lawrence Center offers shoppers a variety of service-oriented kosher merchants, including Super Sol, a kosher supermarket; Jerusalem Pizza, a kosher pizzeria; Forley's Jewelry; Carvel carvel: see caravel.  Ice Cream, kosher ice cream; Hallmark Cards Hallmark Cards, a privately owned American company based in Kansas City, Missouri, is the largest manufacturer of greeting cards in the United States. Approximately 50% of greeting cards sent in the United States every year are manufactured by Hallmark. ; PIP Printing; Pretty in Pink, a custom-made clothing store, and Filmtronics Ltd.
