WEIGHT: 6lb 2oz and 5lb PARENTS: Project surveyor Sandeep Patel, 32, and research executive Urmila Patel, 32, of Grangetown, Cardiff For other places with the same name, see Grangetown.
Grangetown is an area in Cardiff, Wales. It is one of the largest districts in the south of the city and is bordered by Riverside, Canton and Butetown. The River Taff winds its way through the area.
. MUM'S STORY: "We're Hindus so the twins' names were decided on the day and time they were born. A Hindu priest selected which initials the names should start with and K and J came up. We chose the names after they were born, as we didn't know whether we were going to have girls or boys.

"They are our first children. I don't know about having any more children. I think we'll have to wait and see how we get on with these two first. It was a big surprise finding out we were having twins, we were both shocked yet over the moon.

"I thoroughly enjoyed being pregnant, as the nine months went smoothly. When the little angels arrived, we were both over the moon.

"The girls are doing really well. Their personalities are coming through - Keira's a feisty little thing whereas Keisha is quieter.

"I have adapted to motherhood quite well I think.

I'm surprised by how well I'm doing really as I wasn't the maternal type. We have established a good routine so I guess that helps."

DAD'S STORY: "We got their first names through Hindu astrology astrology, form of divination based on the theory that the movements of the celestial bodies—the stars, the planets, the sun, and the moon—influence human affairs and determine the course of events. . We got the initials and then we went onto the internet and found Keisha and Keira which we both liked. Their middle names were also part of the Hindu astrology alphabet and were chosen by my sisters.

"I have no plans for any more at the moment. Finding out we were having twins wasn't that much of a shock as Urmila has twins in her family so it was 50/50 that we would too.

"The birth was an exciting experience and one which was a bit stressful because of the caesarean. There were a lot of people involved in the theatre rooms as each twin needed a separate paediatrician and midwife MIDWIFE, med. jur. . I was quite relieved when it was all over to be honest.

"The girls are getting on brilliantly and are eating and sleeping really well. Keira cries a lot but Keisha is more placid plac·id
