ABC's Washington, D.C., affiliate, WJLA-TV, Channel 7, decided to drop the show "indefinitely." WJLA WJLA Washington DC area television station; JLA comes from founder Joseph L. Richard Forrester, KATV's director of programming, said the station received calls and e-mails from viewers who like and dislike the program, but not in large volume. Allbritton left the decision about whether to air the show up to each station.

Although KATV is still airing the program, Forrester said the station will continue to monitor it and viewer response. Forrester also is keeping in touch with ABC ABC
 in full American Broadcasting Co.

"Monitoring the program, we haven't seen any evidence that [Maher] is a communist and is ready to overthrow the country," Forrester said.

KAIT-TV, Channel 8, in Jonesboro is airing the program as well. KAIT KAIT Kaufman Adolescent and Adult Intelligence Test  is owned by Cosmos Broadcasting Corp.
