'I've lost pounds 25,000 from DFB collapse'.


Farmer Wynn Jones from Ruthin has been left pounds 25,000 out of pocket because of DFB's collapse.

He welcomed in the new owners, but said he and fellow farmers will be counting the cost of the collapse for months.

They've have been told to "write off" tens of thousands of pounds owed to them by the previous owners.

He said: "This deal is a lifesaver for farmers after what has been a very traumatic period for all of us.

"I'm only small-scale but my loss has been around pounds 25,000.

"We need Llandyrnog to operate, it's a very efficient plant and it's very important for the whole industry."

Mr Jones added: "I'm so pleased the receivers have managed to find new owners though a lot of farmers are still sceptical.

"It's a case of once-bitten twice shy because we invested a lot in DFB and lost all of it.

"We will get no compensation and have been told to write that debt off because we're so far down the pecking order pecking order
