He began training in Normandy, but his career achieved its greatest heights following his move to Chantilly in 1981. , with whom he was closely associated in his time as contracted rider to the Aga Khan Aga Khan (ä`gä khän), the title of the religious leader and imam of the Ismaili Nizari sect of Islam, originally bestowed by the Persian shah Fath Ali on Hasan Ali Shah, 1800–1881, the 46th Ismaili imam, in 1818. .

"I'll be riding for three stables, including Alain's, but not the Aga Khan horses," he said. "The other trainers I'll be attached to are Carlos Laffon-Parias and Mikel Delzangles and I hope to ride all over Europe. I'm certainly looking forward to riding again at Longchamp, as it's difficult to find a better track."

Mosse revealed the reasons for his homecoming, saying: "I was becoming a little homesick as my children and friends are all in France, and I'll stay here until the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe in October."

Although Mosse is approaching the veteran stage and intends to take up training in the future, he has no plans to give up the saddle in the short term.

"Riding is what I like and I was created to be a jockey," he said. "I get an amazing feeling on a horse and love competition. I can still do 57 kilos 8st 7lb - as long as I'm in good physical and mental condition and enjoying myself, I'll continue for as long as I can.

"It's difficult to plan now, as you can't think about two professions at the same time. For now, I must just concentrate on my weight and keeping fit."
