'Hard to imagine life without Non' Husband's grief after popular PC found dead.

Owen Edward Hughes (born: 1848 - died: 1932) was a former territorial level politician and Member of the Northwest Territories Legislative Assembly from 1885 until 1888.
 

A HEARTBROKEN husband has spoken of his devastation after his police constable wife was found dead at their family home.

PC Non Wyn Parry, 45, who spent 29 years as an officer in North Wales Police North Wales Police (Welsh: Heddlu Gogledd Cymru) is the Home Office police force responsible for policing North Wales. The headquarters are in Colwyn Bay, with divisional headquarters in St Asaph, Caernarfon and Wrexham. , was discovered hanged at her home in Brynrefail, Gwynedd, last Wednesday afternoon.

She had spent the day walking in Llanberis with her husband Gwyn before the tragedy.

Mr Parry, who is also a police officer, paid tribute to his wife of 25 years yesterday.

He said: "No words can begin to describe what the death of my wife means to me.

"It is a great loss and I'm finding it extremely hard to imagine life without her.

"I first met Non when we were both stationed in Abersoch and in September 2008 we celebrated our silver wedding anniversary Noun 1. silver wedding anniversary - the 25th wedding anniversary

 which marked 25 very happy years together.

"Non had a large family and a number of friends.

"She enjoyed their company and I know from the contact that I have had fromour friends, colleagues and everyone else who know her that she will be sorely missed."

He added: "Non was a quiet but strong person. She liked nothing more than spending time together in our home in Brynrefail.

"We moved to Brynrefail some 10 years ago and have fantastic views of Snowdonia from our home. Non loved the tranquillity and the surrounding beauty of the countryside.

"We loved walking, particularly going down to the nearby lake in Llanberis with our dog Alfie which we did on what was our last day together.

"We also enjoyed going on holiday alone and with friends."

At the age of 16Mrs Parry was already dedicated to becoming a police officer and joined the cadet scheme run by the force.

Mr Parry said: "While at school she apparently was encouraged to go and see the careers officer with a view to becoming a teacher but Non only ever had one thing in mind and that was to become an officer - and this she did.

"My sister Catrin often joked that we were both police officers and said not onlywerewe in each other's arms but also in the 'arms of the law'."

A spokesman for North Wales Police said: "Non had worked with the North Wales Police for 29 years andwill be sorely missed by her friends and colleagues.

Our thoughts are with her family at this difficult time."

Her funeral will take place at 1pm on Thursday February 12 at StDeiniol's Church, Llanddeiniolen.
