'HERE RESTS IN HONORED GLORY' Offers Solace in Time for Memorial Day.


SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The Donald and Mary Miller Foundation announced today the release of its musical CD "Here Rests in Honored Glory." Intended as a tribute for those who have lost their life while serving in the Armed Forces, the music has received nomination nods from New York New York, state, United States
New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of
 State as the official hymn of mourning and has been adopted as the official hymn of mourning by the Paralyzed Veterans of America The Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) is a congressionally-chartered veterans' service organization in the United States of America, founded in 1946. It describes itself as having "developed a unique expertise on a wide variety of issues involving the special needs of our members  and Veterans of the Vietnam War Vietnam War, conflict in Southeast Asia, primarily fought in South Vietnam between government forces aided by the United States and guerrilla forces aided by North Vietnam.  Inc. "I wanted to honor our lost soldiers," said Donald Miller, composer and Trustee of the Foundation. "Its noteworthy trait - from somber minor to a major key - allows the music to descend depicting the death of a soldier, with modulations to signify the life after ours on Earth."

"Here Rests in Honored Glory" is based on the inscription of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and is the first musical setting for the text. The original music was written by Miller in 1986. It was performed and recorded by the North Carolina Master Chorale chorale (kōrăl`, –räl`), any of the traditional hymns of the German Protestant Church. The form was developed after the Reformation to replace the plainsong of the earlier service and as a means of congregational participation in  and instrumentalists under the direction of Dr. Alfred Sturgis in October 2005. The disc will be made available for sale at the 12th Annual TAPS Conference in Washington, D.C., scheduled for May 25th through May 29th.

Donald Miller is an award-winning jazz guitarist with a Doctorate of Music from the University of Southern California The U.S. News & World Report ranked USC 27th among all universities in the United States in its 2008 ranking of "America's Best Colleges", also designating it as one of the "most selective universities" for admitting 8,634 of the almost 34,000 who applied for freshman admission . His VHS (Video Home System) A half-inch, analog videocassette recorder (VCR) format introduced by JVC in 1976 to compete with Sony's Betamax, introduced a year earlier. , the "Finger Lakes Suite," was released in 1991 and he has since completed a series of six books for Mel Bay Publications Inc. under the title "Donald Miller Guitar Ensemble Series." He is currently at work on a new project for Mel Bay titled "Donald Miller String Ensemble Series" to be released in 2007.

The Donald and Mary Miller Foundation, a charitable foundation, was formed by Bruce Poushter, Esq., CPA (Computer Press Association, Landing, NJ) An earlier membership organization founded in 1983 that promoted excellence in computer journalism.
