'HAWKS THROW OUT NINE CENTER-FIELD PUTOUT SECURES VICTORY JETHAWKS 7, MUDVILLE 6.

 JetHawks bullpen will take relief anywhere it can get it these days.

On Sunday, it was center fielder Jamie Gann who made the key pitch for the JetHawks in a 7-6 victory over the Mudville Nine in front of 2,005 fans at Lancaster Municipal Stadium.

After Mudville loaded the bases with no outs in the top of the ninth, Gann fielded a fly ball in midrange center field and threw a strike to JetHawks catcher J.D. Closser, who tagged out the would-be tying runner.

The Nine had runners at second and third after the double play, but JetHawks reliever Javier Lopez struck out cleanup batter Andy Burress to end the game.

``It was tremendous,'' said Lopez of Gann's play. ``That's what you look for, having your teammates pick you up, and that's what he did tonight.''

Lopez pitched one inning to earn the save, and Hatuey Mendoza, who was added to the roster before the game, allowed one run in 5 2/3 combined innings of four-hit ball in relief of John Patterson John Patterson can mean any of the following:
