'GLASS MENAGERIE' SET TENNESSEE WILLIAMS' PLAY ON FAMILY ANGST STILL RELEVANT.

The production is directed by Jessica Kubzansky, and features actors Mandy Freund, Louis Lotorto, Johnathan McClain Johnathan McClain is an American stage and television actor who appeared on the 2005 television series The Bad Girl's Guide starring Jenny McCarthy.

In 2004 he appeared in a television pilot for ABC starring Jessica Simpson which was originally picked up by the network but

``There's no question that his life inspired the play,'' Kubzansky said.

And although the play takes place in 1930s St. Louis and was written more than half a century ago, Kubzansky said the family dynamics still ring true today.

``It's about family pain, which never goes out of style,'' Kubzansky said. ``It's really astonishingly a·ston·ish

 contemporary, about a family loving each other and torturing each other at the same time.''

Kubzansky has cast a younger Amanda than is usually cast to better reflect her son Tom's memory of his mother. Kubzansky and her design team - set and costumes by Michelle Ney, original music by Randall Tico and lighting by Jeremy Pivnick - have made design choices that will add to the memory element of the piece.

Working on a classic that many people are familiar with presents its own challenges, Kubzansky said.
