Ann Kirwan, who worked at Lilly Mai's in Limerick, denied admitting at a meeting in February last year she had given "food for free".

In a ruling the tribunal said there was a conflict of evidence about what happened at the meeting.

But it was clear it had led to Ms Kirwan, of Carrickon-Suir, Co Tipperary, being sacked "in a breach of due process and procedures".

A colleague of Ms Kirwan, who was at the meeting, confirmed she had not admitted she gave food for free.
