(IBC IBC International Building Code IBC Iraq Body Count IBC Institutional Biosafety Committee IBC Inflammatory Breast Cancer IBC International Business Company IBC Independence Blue Cross IBC Insurance Bureau of Canada IBC International Broadcasting Convention ) system designed to prevent accidental cross-feeding of polyol and isocyanate i·so·cy·a·nate n. Any of a family of nitrogenous chemicals that are used in industry and can cause respiratory disorders, especially asthma, if inhaled. by polyurethane processors. While use of 275-gal IBCs for PUR chemicals is growing an estimated 20%/yr, customers can confuse similar-looking containers for polyols and isocyanates and possibly connect them to the wrong "wet" side of a PUR machine. To eliminate such accidents, Bayer's IBCs for polyol now have blue corner protectors, fillport caps, dust covers, etc. On IBCs for isocyanates, those components are bright red. Bayer also adopted an approach that has been used for a couple of years in Germany This is a list of years in Germany. See also the timeline of German history.
