LOS ANGELES, Sept. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Production has begun on Walt Disney Television's two-hour television film, "Encino Woman." A female version of the 1992 motion picture "Encino Man," the comedy features Jay Thomas ("Love and War"), Corey Parker ("Biloxi Blues") and New York actress Katherine Kousi as Lucy, the prehistoric woman forced to cope with the modern world. "Encino Woman" is the second in a series of "Disney Family Movies" which will air on ABC over the 1995-'96 television season. Rounding out the cast are Craig Bierko, Annabelle Gurwich, John Kassir, Chris Hogan and Suli McCullough. Clarence Williams III Clarence Williams III (born August 21, 1939) is an American actor. His first major acting role was as "Linc Hayes" on Aaron Spelling's The Mod Squad. He has guest starred in television shows such as Hill Street Blues, Miami Vice, and comedian Bobcat Goldthwait appear in cameo roles. Shawn Schepps directs this new version of the Disney comedy about Lucy, a prehistoric woman awakened from her million-year-long nap by one of L.A.'s famous earthquakes. The teleplay tel·e·play n. The story follows the "rebirth" of Lucy (Kousi), a prehistoric woman who has spent millions of years suspended in cryogenic sleep in a glacier hidden deep inside the Hollywood Hills. Released from the ice by an earthquake, Lucy faces an alien world full of cars, skyscrapers, and superficial people. She finds a friend in David Horsenfelt (Parker), a kind-hearted but insecure executive at B&S Advertising, which is run by the ruthless Marvin Beckler (Thomas). David finds himself irresistibly drawn to Lucy even though he assumes she must be crazy. Accompanying David to a commercial shoot, Lucy catches the eye of flamboyant fashion designer Jean Michel (Kassir), who declares her the perfect woman to represent his new perfume, "Primal." She becomes the supermodel of the moment and inadvertently sparks a revolution encouraging people to reject meaningless fashions and love their bodies. During Lucy's rise to fame, David is fired and re-hired several times, learns the meaning of self-respect and, finally, finds true love.
