" at the Coney Island Coney Island (kō`nē), beach resort, amusement center, and neighborhood of S Brooklyn borough of New York City, SE N.Y., on the Atlantic Ocean.  Museum running through September 10 will showcase new art and architecture in the Coney Island area.

The museum, located in an early twentieth century building on Surf Avenue, houses colorful historic and cultural memorabilia from Coney Island, the birthplace of American popular culture, and also hosts film series and art exhibitions.

The "Subway to Dreamland" exhibit will feature architectural renderings and photographs of the recently-completed Stillwell Avenue Portal building together with displays of two celebrated New York New York, state, United States
New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of
 artists that are changing the subway passenger experience: Robert Wilson Robert Wilson may refer to:

, whose large-scale glass-brick mural was commissioned for the Stillwell facility and Vito Acconci, who designed the facade "windscreen" at the West 8th Street subway station, also in Coney Island.

The new Stillwell Avenue Portal Building was designed by New York based architects di Domenico and Partners.

Aaron Beebe, Director of The Coney Island Museum, commented, "These projects have changed the face of Surf Avenue and added to the importance of the arts in the "New" Coney Island.
