'Don't pity trial cops'.JURORS were yesterday warned not to feel sympathetic towards two former police chiefs accused of manslaughter manslaughter, homicide committed without justification or excuse but distinguished from murder by the absence of the element of malice aforethought. Modern criminal statutes usually divide it into degrees, the most common distinction being between voluntary and over Hillsborough. The judge told them: "All you have to do is decide if the charges against these defendants have been proved." Mr Justice Hooper hoop·er n. Both retired after the 1989 disaster which claimed the lives of 96 Liverpool fans during their club's FA Cup semi-final against Nottingham Forest at Hillsborough. Mr Duckenfield, 55, of Bournemouth, and Mr Murray, 58, from Pontefract, West Yorks West York may refer to one of these places:
