'Death pact' man is held after suicide; HANGING.


A MAN in his 50s was being quizzed by detectives last night over the death of his wife in a suspected suicide pact Noun 1. suicide pact - an agreement by two or more people to commit suicide together at a given place and time; "the two lovers killed themselves in a suicide pact"  which went wrong.

The woman's body is believed to have been left hanging in their pounds 250,000 three-bed house for at least eight weeks.

A source said: "It seems he told police they had decided on suicide but he couldn't go through with it.

"It's almost beyond belief that he may have had to pass her body daily. It's an unusual and shocking business."

A neighbour in Lymington, Hants, said: "They seemed like a nice, polite, couple but were very private."
