'DON'T GO,' WOMAN ENTREATS DYING HUSBAND.GRANADA HILLS - Nina Martinez cradled her husband in her arms late Saturday night as he lay dying, the victim of an apparent gang attack, and pleaded with him, ``Don't go, don't go.'' Police are investigating the death of 27-year-old Melisio Lopez Martinez, who died after being shot in a barrage of bullets outside a Ralphs grocery store on Balboa Boulevard and Devonshire Street. A group of four males with apparent gang affiliations exchanged words with Martinez, and once outside the store, one of the suspects shot him, said Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850. police Detective Mike Oppelt. Nina Martinez said her husband tried to avoid a confrontation, being polite, and then the suspects' threats escalated, sending his 15-year-old brother to the car. The family finally left their items in the store and walked out, she said. But one of the men who had confronted Martinez had gone outside and gotten a gun. ``I sat down (in the car) and I saw (the suspect) pull out the gun and started screaming for everyone to get down,'' Nina Martinez said.
