'Clean-Diesel' Locomotives Coming to Ports.


Port of Los Angeles The Port of Los Angeles is located on San Pedro Bay in the San Pedro neighborhood of Los Angeles, approximately 20 miles (30 km) south of downtown. Also called Los Angeles Harbor and WORLDPORT LA :
WHAT:     The Ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles and Pacific Harbor
          Line (PHL) will announce the details of a tentative
          agreement to launch a $23 million program to significantly
          reduce air emissions by replacing the fleet of 18 harbor
          locomotives with "clean-diesel" and alternative fuel
          locomotives.

WHEN:     Friday, August 26, at 9 a.m.

          Customs Dock
          Long Beach, CA 90802

          Directions from Ocean Blvd./CA-47 Freeway:
          Turn south onto Navy Way, turn left on Reeves, follow around
          to Nimitz, then turn left on Nimitz. Follow "Media Event"
          signs along Nimitz to the back gate at TTI's rail operations
          building.
