'Clean Energy Partnerships' Forum Announced; Event is Part of the Statewide Colorado Tech Week, September 18-22.


DENVER -- As part of the Governor's 2006 Tech Week, the Governor's Office of Energy Management and Conservation (OEMC OEMC Office of Energy Management and Conservation (Colorado Governor's Office)

There is a veterinary teaching hospital, an agricultural campus, and a research campus.  and the Northern Colorado Economic Development Corp. will host a morning energy forum: "Clean Energy Partnerships." The forum will have two sessions focusing on clean-energy technologies and will be held on Monday, September 18, at Colorado State University's (CSU See DSU/CSU.

) Engines and Energy Conversion Laboratory.

The first session of the forum will have presenters from Colorado's premier universities and laboratories. The presenters will discuss recent research and development in renewable energy Renewable energy utilizes natural resources such as sunlight, wind, tides and geothermal heat, which are naturally replenished. Renewable energy technologies range from solar power, wind power, and hydroelectricity to biomass and biofuels for transportation.  and emerging energy technologies.

The forum will also address economic development and private-public partnerships that focus on renewable energy projects in Colorado. The benefits of these projects, as well as the challenges, will be discussed.

"Colorado has some great examples of collaboration Working together on a project. See collaborative software.  between private-public partnerships, universities, and communities in renewable energy technologies," said Drew Bolin, OEMC director.

There will be exhibits demonstrating emerging energy technologies in transportation, alternative fuels, renewable energy, and a tour of the CSU Engines and Energy Conversion Laboratory. A question-and-answer period will be encouraged after the forum.
