Jared Leto Jared Joseph Leto (born December 26, 1971) is an American actor and musician. His first major acting performance was as Jordan Catalano in the television series My So-Called Life.  probably will be putting in a phone call to that other Jared (the one from Subway) after packing on some 60 pounds to play John Lennon's assassin in "Chapter 27." Apparently still smarting from not being cast in one of the recent Truman Capote movies, Leto also affects a bad Southern accent A southern accent, in general, is an accent characteristic of the southern part of any country or region. With reference to the English language, the term usually refers to either of:
  • Southern American English (spoken in the Southern United States)
 and comes off crazier than a bag of squirrels. It's a train-wreck turn in a dreary movie about a self-pitying loser responsible for murdering a beloved pop icon.
