'Best job in the world' website overloaded with applications.

Melbourne, Feb 18 (ANI): Tourism Queensland has received so many applications for the 'Best Job in the World' that it was forced to increase its IT support for the website in its final days.

Tourism Minister Desley Boyle revealed that they are stormed with applications and the site's expecting a heavy hit rate.

"We're not sure if people have been holding out to size up the quality of the opposition, or whether they have just caught onto this worldwide phenomenon, but we are seeing a significant increase," News.com.au quoted Boyle as saying.

"20,000 people from over 180 countries have so far applied for the role of Caretaker of the Islands of the Great Barrier Reef Great Barrier Reef, largest complex of coral reef in the world, c.1,250 mi (2,000 km) long, in the Coral Sea, forming a natural breakwater for the coast of Queensland, NE Australia.  in what has become arguably the most talked-about job vacancy in the world," she added.

The six-month stint will require the successful applicant to explore neighbouring islands, swim, snorkel snorkel, tube through which a submarine or diver can draw air while underwater. When in use, the top of the snorkel tube extends above the water surface into the air. , discover wildlife, and the locals.

Boyle said that the campaign is arguably one of the most successful tourism promotions ever, attracting more than 2.3 million people to the website. (ANI)
