'Best bunch I've seen here for some time' WHAT THEY SAID AT GOFFS.

Goffs have done a good job. The foals are the best bunch I've seen here for some time. Trade is healthy and I've been finding it hard to buy the nice ones. Paddy Twomey, Hawthorn Villa Stud It's been tough to buy the good ones. We've been able to buy a few nice fillies, but it has been hard to compete for the good commercial foals. Some breeders are probably relying on one star to carry the remainder, but overall trade is holding up well. Peter Molony, Rathmore Stud There are some very nice foals here and it's very strong today. Trade has been good this week and there's a buzz around the place which is great to see. Bobby O'Ryan It's following on from a good round of yearling sales and the competition is strong. Last year we were able to have a shot at a lot of foals, but it has been a good deal tougher to get a look in this time. Jimmy Murphy, Redpender Stud I came here to buy a few foals and haven't been able to. There's a good market for the nice ones and the foals are the best I've seen in Goffs. They're more forward and in better nick than in the past and long may it continue - we've a few foals to sell next week. For the good individual by the right sire it's fine, but it must be frustrating for vendors who have good individuals by the wrong sire. Paul Thorman
