'BACHELOR' TO 'BASSCENTER'.

Byron Velvick Byron Paul Velvick (b. June 14, 1964 in Boulder City, Nevada) was the bachelor in Season 6 of the United States television show The Bachelor. He has been a professional bass fisherman for the past 13 years.

He graduated from UC Irvine with a degree in English.

Now, the 40-year-old bass pro is fishing for television viewers on ``BassCenter.''

Velvick, who has won two WON BASS U.S. Opens at Lake Mead, will join anchor John Kernan as the analyst for BassCenter, a weekly bass-fishing news show that will bookmark A stored location for quick retrieval at a later date. Web browsers provide bookmarks that contain the addresses (URLs) of favorite sites. Most electronic references, large text databases and help systems provide bookmarks that mark a location users want to revisit in the future.  ESPN ESPN Entertainment and Sports Programming Network 2's Saturday morning angling programming. The show will cover the news of the sport for that week, including all forms of tournaments, profiles, technology, human interest stories and bass fishing tips. It will air at 4 and 7 a.m. with the first airing on Jan. 1.

Saltwater Sunday, a 3 hour, 3 minute block on saltwater fishing, will begin at 4 a.m. on Jan. 2.

In between BassCenter will be six shows, including Loudmouth Bass, Jimmy Houston Outdoors, The Fishin' Hole with Jerry McKinnis, Schooled by Denny Brauer, Bassmaster University, Bass Tech and Bassmaster Classics.

Velvick, who grew up in California and attended UC Irvine, now shares his time between Boulder City, Nev., and a new home in Tampa, Fla., reeled in Mary Delgado of Tampa in The Bachelor. The pair are still dating and are eyeing marriage.

``You had the feeling he is comfortable in front of the camera,'' Bowen said.
