'APOLLO 13,' HANKS WIN NEW PRIZES.

"Apollo 13" and its star Tom Hanks won four People's Choice Awards The People's Choice Awards is an awards show recognizing the people and the work of popular culture. The show has been held annually since 1975 and is one of the few to be based on the opinions of the general public.  Sunday night in another pre-Oscar prize sweep for the space epic.

"Apollo 13" was voted both favorite motion picture and movie drama at the 22nd annual awards. Hanks was the favorite motion picture actor and actor in a movie drama.

Sandra Bullock won the People's Choice Award as favorite movie actress, while Demi Moore got the nod as favorite dramatic movie actress.

In the comedy category, the favorite motion picture was "Grumpier Old Men." Jim Carrey and Whoopi Goldberg were the favorite comedy actor and actress.
