'A dream come true'.

A $12,000 donation from MGM Grand Detroit Casino and its local partners helped the nonprofit Detroit Boxing Association buy a new roof and an enclosed fence for its building on Detroit's west side.

The newly enhanced boxing gym will give Detroit children a better opportunity to learn sportsmanship and other life skills, said MGM Grand Detroit Casino President and COO Scott Snow.

"These enhancements really are a dream come true, and they establish a better foundation for what we're trying to accomplish here," said Andrea Darnell, promoter, manager and founder of the program.
